TRECAPE

Loft designed for design students at the concourse of Temasek Polytechnic, School of Design. With the emphasis on 3 components: WORK, REST & PLAY. This provides a short escape from their hectic and stressful daily schedules in school and also space for Design Studies Club to hold their meetings at.

CONCEPT
Design students are often required to be knowledgeable of skills and knowledge not only from their own discipline but also from different another discipline, hence, design students often not, reach out for students of other design disciplines for help. Similar to branching where tree trunks branch out its leaves for sunlight. A loft would be a suitable place for students of different discipline to connect and reach out to others for help.

FEATURES
The loft consists of three zones, the upper level is for meetings and work, the middle level is for the public and the lower level is for recreational.
UPPER LEVEL

The upper level consists of integrated tables and chairs at the edge of the platform. there are two separate platforms to let meetings take place while the other for doing work.

MIDDLE LEVEL
The middle level consists of platforms and an extended balcony to let students have a place to sit down and rest or do their work. Exposed platform support is designed like a tree branching. At the edge of the extended platforms, there are integrated tables to the railings, for design students to have a table to do their work on.



LOWER LEVEL
The lower part is mainly for resting and partially recreational. It has hammock netting for people to lie down and rest on it, it is positioned under the concourse so that there is lesser light and more privacy for those who want to rest.
